Keeping Majestic Palm HELP

How to keep Majestic Palm alive in Northern Virginia...every year In Spring, I buy 2. (Hard ware store or Walmart) ...they are great all summer and fall but after that they dry, and rotten..i bring them back inside but considering the price I paid for it...i do not mind..but loving those palm, break my heart to trhrow...am failing at keeping them alive...at my surprise, this winter, i left 2 big pot (huge) in ly laudry room, sort of keeping and hiding them because they turned uggly...bu my surprise is that one is coming back to life... How to care for that Florida palm plan ?

Do they sell other palm species in your area? This species is not an easy one. It needs constant moisture, humidity, feeding and lots of space. Just about any other palm species is easier by comparison. Try a Chamaedorea cataractarum (aka., Cat Palm) or Phoenix roebellini (Pygmy Date).

Thank for your feedback. Majestic is my fav...I REALLY LOVE THOSE PALM....

I will look into the Chamaedorea...or phoenix...i like highly green decorativ palm and very low maintnance...( friends said "get a plastic, fake) i love nature so much....look what my neighbor gave once....it was small, and planted it outside ...needed no maintnance at all...mom nature took care of it...and it now grown beautifully.
