Thanks everyone! I'm super happy with it. I have 17 1/2 other seedlings all The same age, of various shapes and sizes. No other signs of blooms though yet. I lost a couple last summer to a freak rot episode. Several rotted suddenly from the top down (rainy season I think got to them). I was able to save most with a hard pruning. They are branching out nicely. That's where the 1/2 comes from, it didn't fare well but is still hanging in there. It was one that had and kept a real green caudex so I want it to pull through. We'll see.

I was perusing around the forum for an answer to a question I was thinking of asking, then I came across your query on a posting of which answer is exactly what I am looking for:

"Regarding the ladybugs.....are the Bayer granules that were used the systemic stuff? I ask because if the mealies eat the systemic treated leaves and the ladybugs eat them the ladybugs will also get poisoned, right?"

Three weeks ago, when I found mealy bugs on some Adenium seedlings, I separated the batch from others and applied the granules. It was very effective on the mealy bugs and aphids. I still have them quarantined so I could study long-term effects on the plants. I was thinking of using the granules on all the other seedlings I have, but then discovered several lady bugs among them. I definitely do not want to harm the ladybugs.

Shoot! Ladybugs disappeared again. I think praying mantis ate them--spotted giant one among the Adeniums.
