Any suggestions on how to make our fireplace look less awkward? I bought a house, preconstruction and didn't know that the fireplace would stick out from the wall so much (2 feet). The mantle and the woodwork around the fireplace are not to my taste. I prefer more of a modern streamlined look. Near the ceiling is a bulkhead. Would anyone build a faux wall on top of the fireplace and mount the TV? Or any suggestions would be much appreciated!
