POLL: Where do you keep your plunger?
Comments (50)Actually I gave it to my valet who then gave it to my butler who then gave it to the groundskeeper who then gave it to the groomsmen and they gave it to the stable boy who told the plumber to "shove it"....See MorePOLL: Where do you prefer to do your laundry?
Comments (22)I think it's best to have it where most of the laundry comes from which will differ depending on your house and family. Our house is a two story with the bedrooms upstairs. The only laundry that comes from downstairs is a few towels. So it is most convenient to have near the upstairs bedrooms. When we bought the house the laundry was in the kitchen - which is the absolute worst place to do laundry! Comments (116)Way to Keep Your Home Cool in Summer. https://www.newcentralairconditioner.com/ Skip the AC, Increase the Airflow. In many cities, the biggest barrier to comfort is stagnant, humid air. Air conditioners remove some humidity and get the air moving, both of which can be done without the expensive noise of cooling the entire house. Create cross-ventilation by opening windows and placing fans at both ends of your house or apartment, with one fan facing inward and one facing outward to draw the air through. If you have a basement, use a dehumidifier to draw the humidity out of the air and keep the basement cooler and more resistant to mold. That will keep the ground floor cooler and prevent the growth of unhealthy or toxic mold during those damp summer months....See MorePOLL: Do you do your own painting or hire painters?
Comments (72)I recently learned the following: there are some things I do well, and there are some things that I should keep my hands off. Painting falls into the latter. Gee, it looks so easy when you watch the home improvement shows or YouTube videos. And, as I began painting, it did seem so easy. I thought I was doing a pretty good job. Until the next day, that is. Seeing my handiwork in the light of a new day, I realized it was terrible. I hired a painter and was so fortunate to find an amazing one who promised perfection and delivered (and I am a perfectionist). So, for some of us, it's better to leave the painting to the pros....See MoreHelen
