Terrarium Controllers

Hey, guys. Has anyone attempted to create a terrarium controller? I've been looking for a good controller for Arduino in the last few days since I stumbled upon this concept work of a iOS-controlled terrarium by Samuel Wilkinson (here). It's an aesthetically beautiful concept, but with all seriousness not so sure if the design is entirely effective as a terrarium.

Anyway, I'd like to build a temp/light/humidity controlled terrarium in general, doesn't have to be Arduino. I'm not fully familiar with whatever might already be out there. I've asked in Arduino/Raspberry Pi forums, but I'd like to hear your angle. Let me know if you've built anything like that yourself or have anything to recommend.

I know that terrariums have a careful balance within that keeps them self-sustained, so perhaps it seems pointless to do this, so think of it more like a scenario where a terrarium exists in a place with no natural light available.

Best,
