Good question! I, for one,
would like to know what a sunburned Adenium looks like.

I live in the tropics so will relate my
experience accordingly. I sprouted my seedlings in shade
and waited until they developed a set of true leaves, then placed them in a location that received filtered morning sun. Next, when they developed
more leaves, they were transplanted into 4" pots. After about 5 days of recovery in filtered sun, they were moved out into full sun.

Now, if you are asking how to reacclimatize
after being indoors during cold winter weather, then I am sure other members will be glad to assist
you in this matter.

Hi vtsir.

Scorched adenium leaves will first curl up around the edges and then lose their chlorophyll. They'll turn white before totally drying out. This doesn't appear to permanently harm them but it does mean they'll have to spend more energy replacing those leaves.

The rule of thumb is to allow your plant to spend a week in increasing amounts of sunlight starting from bright shade to dappled sun then to morning sun and finally to full sun for as long as you can provide.

I don't know what kind of climate you have where you are but up north, we wait until night temperatures are above 16C before bringing adeniums outside. If your plant spent winter in an indoor location where nights get no colder than, say, 10C, you can bring them outside then, when nights no longer dip below 10C.

I have been growing adeniums in a grow tent with hps light. Adeniums are active and growing. Night temps are a little bit above 12C and sun is hot, temps can reach 20C+. I will try to keep them under shade and a little sun at the end of the day for the first week. Thank you.
