I haven't heard of this. Did they have green fans when you got them? Do you know how long they had been out of the ground? Were the rhizomes solid when they arrived? Have you had an unusual freeze? I would get a picture and send to the seller.

Yes - we have had an unusual Freeze here in New Jersey - the temps are horrible and we wake up with Ice on the car windshields. Very unusual for this time of year, so the fans may have been exposed to very cold temperatures.

We had a freeze here & I noticed that some of my iris the foliage had turned white, the ones that were most exposed to the elements. They should come out of it fine though, I remember it happening a few years ago when we had a very late hard freeze (in May if I remember right) and the iris went on to bloom fine.
