Johnson grass. Kill it while you can.

Seed heads aren't as "airy" as Johnson grass.

But it's all dead, bagged and in the trash.

It's what I've heard called foxtails. Be sure to get rid of it if you have dogs, the seeds get in their ears, and require a vet visit to get them out. They're very painful and cause ear infections.

Could be Rescuegrass. Introduced from South America. Seeds germinate in fall but grow rapdily in spring.
