Hi JP and welcome to this board. I am in So. Calif and my plants are doing very well. Most are getting little leaves and so many are going to bloom this year. I even had the first one bloom last week, it is the oldest one I have and it bloom every year. I spend a lot of time looking to see how many are going to bloom this year. I am also going to sell some at a block yard sale in early May. I need to thin out some of the extra ones that I have and a lot of them will be blooming which will be a big plus. I have already started watering them also and have started some cuttings, but not as many as last year. :) Barb

Generally speaking I start fertilizing in April and stop in October. If its an early spring and you start out with a half or less dose/application a couple of weeks ago I don't think there will be any harm to established plants.

If they are in ground or plunged the irrigation system by itself will not be an issue.

All indoors on a window sill. One from last year is leafing out since January. 3 cuttings are rooting/rooted from when I bought them in February! One as a couple of little leaflets popping out while the other two are just barely punching through hard sap from the callusing period. :)

Thanks for all the great info! All my little plants are doing very well with leaves or claws but the Aztec gold (planted in the ground) and the big red plumeria (plunged) are not showing any signs of life? The trunks are hard and the tips are all green, the Aztec gold seems to have an inflow though but it was there when I bought it almost a month ago. I'm watering/feeding only once a week in the morning and hope soon they will start growing.

Hi JP. Although they are established, you might want to consider holding off watering the Aztec and big red until they start to wake up. I always worry about watering while the plant is dormant. Just a thought...

That's what I was thinking but man I really want to see some claws or leaves! It's been warm but nights have dropped into low 50's. The trunks are hard on both plants, the big red is really green and the Aztec Gold is more of a neutral color but that should mean they're fine right? Hopefully just dormant still... It's almost been one month since I planted/plunged them and I've only watered/fertilized them very lightly 3 times.

I wouldn't worry right now for anything. Just water once of twice in the whole month of april( if it gets rain is not even necessary) . The dormancy period doesnt end solely because of water presence in the soil, it is due to warmer temps and longer fotoperiod, so to get started just water it a time or two and let it go

Still no leaves on my big red tree and the Aztec gold.... Trunks are hard! Tips are green with claws, hopefully it's just taking some time to transition into its new home. All other plants have leaves and a few inflows pushing through :) just planted the yellow one in the ground last Sunday, I think it's gonna love it's new home.

My bigest plant, a 7 feet , creamy white with yellew center, still dormant but waking up.

A couple of gorgeous "Carmen" 5 feet planta awake, sending the first leaves. I don't know if It is a common variety but I really recommend it, the perfect helix shape and the scent are amazing.

And here the cuttings of last june. All of them are from the Canary Island, a celadine type, a scott pratt type( very intense reed , spice scents like cinnamon...) , a yellow one and the two that are still dormant are a rainbow variety and one orange with quite large flowers. We' ll see how it's gonna go.
