The tale of two Tosca's

First, thanks to Donna's enabling :) I bought two bulbs from RC. The first to bloom is really pretty and is starting to curl back. The second bulb is putting out leaves so I am not sure if it will flower this year. Anyway, here she is the RC Tosca

But wait, there's more.... In order to compare I also ordered a Tosca from Living Gardens....and...I received a mini Tosca wih a scape that has seven flowers. Here she is.

About half the size of the full sized Tosca. Below is a top down view of the bulb.

This has certainly been a year that has brought a lot of surprises to all of us.

Very pretty and great color; do you think it looks like Nititii's? One of mine should be blooming in about a week...I don't know what I think about your mini though..do you think it's something different or just a different batch cultivated in a different way?☺☺

I think that Nititii's flower is much prettier! I do see the curves developing (the picture was taken when it first opened) and the red deepening but I don't think it will be as dramatic as Nititii's or his friend - which were amazing. Either way I like this one. I mean what's not to like about Tosca! I can't wait to see yours , and I'm hoping you will be lucky and get one of the amazing one's.

Re the mini Tosca, I originally thought that the somewhat different size, shape and color could be due to stress or cultivation, but then it developed seven flowers on one scape. .... maybe a sport?

As both of these were bought late in the season, I do think that stress affected the flowers. Will they be different next year after a year of growth and TLC ? .I guess time will tell that tale :)
