What type and style of light would work in a dining room off of this kitchen to go with the schoolhouse light?

There would be a 7 foot farm table off of the kitchen. I would like to model my new kitchen after this kitchen but need to make sure the dining room goes with it too. What color might the wall be in the dining room and walls that are not tiled in the kitchen?

I have seen a dining room off of a kitchen like this and they made a bold choice and used a large black drum shade. The walls were the same light color as the kitchen. I'll see if I can retrieve the picture.

from this vantage point, I really like your kitchen..I love the reflection of the subway tile and how it looks on your surface...What is the material on your surfaces? I really do like it. I would need to see the table in a space showing the two rooms together, if you can capture that! You have a good eye from where I sit!

As a kitchen designer, I I feel that lighting is s crucial part of any remodel. I wrote an article for my clients that you might find helpful: http://bit.ly/1pgE1Pv

without seeing a picture of your dining room, I would look for that individual choice which when you see it....you sing? why not! and your surfaces in your kitchen are______what?

In regard to your question about what color, you can use absolutely any color you like. The room shown is completely absent of color. So you are good to go with whatever color suits your fancy.

Here is a dining room light that would work well with the current lighting.
