Costco has some if you are not picky about varieties. I've been having very good luck with them.

They had some st Sam's Club. I opened the box to check the bag and they were all small, like 1 1/2 inches maximum. Home Depot also has small ones. I haven't had good luck with them if they are small. How were yours, BloomC? I am not a Costco member but might drive and check one out.

I got some two years ago. They were all in decent size, at least 2 1/2 inch I will say. They all sprouted fine and most of them gained size by the end of season. I think one of them is on the 4 inch side. But I was terrible at storing the tubers so I lost 2 the first winter. Second winter I was in a hurry and didn't let them air dry before putting them away. Big mistake! All gone.

Oh, very nice! Now that is a nice big vigorous plant, much like the ones I've been ordering. The tuber sizes you describe are comparable to what I have received mail order. It's just getting harder to justify the shipping costs. I guess the chief thing stopping me from getting an assortment is the fear of getting a lot of yellow or orange, none of which would go with my color scheme in the annual pots in which I use these (red, pink, white, or peach). By the time they bloom, it's too late to figure out they are orange and go put them in the garden.

There are a few varieties in Costco. They put two different varieties in one bag and labeled with names and pictures. The ones I got were definitely no hint of orange or yellow. And they are a lot cheaper than other places considering the size of the tuber. I'm a Costco believer. Go with a friend who has Costco membership. I guarantee you won't come back with just begonias. LOL!

Yes, they are per tuber. The Jumbo and scented are very expensive, but the regular medium tubers are $4 each. They sent me more tubers than I ordered so I'm happy!

Thanks Socalgal. I have potted the apricot picotees from Easy To Grow. I was impressed with the weight and health of the tubers. But Calbegonias has some tempting one :-)
