I have some pretty, carroty weeds that turn into "stick tights" when they seed. I can't tell if that's the same, but I kind of think they are weeds.

I have those all over my property too. They're very pretty and I actually dug one up and put it in a pot on my window sill over the winter--but it never really grew. I wanted to see what it would do. I think it's probably some sort of weed.

It looks like a weed from the carrot family. If you let it bloom, you'll probably get white flowers, and if you do, then it probably is Queen Anne's Lace. If you let those flowers go to seed, you'll have a million more plants next spring. It is very pretty but highly invasive. I pull them out of the garden as soon as I notice them, but I leave some in the shade underneath the pecan tree. I probably shouldn't leave those because I'm sure the ones I leave in the ground underneath the pecan tree are sending seeds into the garden every year.

It's odd because this was not in the yard last year at all. Or at least if it was, I didn't notice it. I think I am going to leave the ones in the beds to see what makes of it. I am curious now as to what it is. I can't just let sleeping dogs lie, lol.

However, if it were the Queen Anne's Lace, would it just appear this year? Blown in? I mean we have a small yard with a 6' privacy fence and like I said, I never saw this last year at all. Hmmm.

It's actually pretty, isn't it? But this attitude with me has caused this plant to be a problem in my yard.

I suppose it's out to the yard I go to pull some roots then. Thank you! I was really hoping it wasn't a weed because I needed some ground cover.

I just noticed today that one of my clumps (of this plant) sent up some stems with what looks like white flower buds at the end. Normally, we don't let the grass, weeds, and wild flowers grow this tall, but our riding lawn mower is broken and we're waiting on a part. In a way, I really enjoy looking at all the wild plants--some of them are actually very pretty like the Star of Bethlehem plant, which I've heard is very invasive too.

Now I do have a weedy ground cover, moneywort. Let me know, if you want some... :) Weedy, cause it spreads, and spreads!

OklaMoni...I might just have to take you up on that. I was looking at some pics on the net. Does yours bloom with the little yellow flowers too? I need something in the backyard in the beds around the bottom of the crepe myrtle bushes. I am headed to Home Depot today. .......need. to. avoid. the. garden. center! lol
