You were lucky to get a healthy plant from Michigan Bulb. My experience with them many years ago was quite poor (most of the plants arrived dead) and if you check on Garden Watchdog, others have had similar experiences.

I have 'Omoshiro' bought it as a small plant. I should have known better instead of planting it out I should have grown it in a gallon pot for a year. I dug it up last spring, grew it in a pot for a year and have now just planted it back out in the garden, a nice healthy looking plant with several stems coming from a great root system. I don't have a pic of the whole vine just a pic of a flower.

It's beautiful! I love the picotee edge. Do you think it is better to grow it in the gallon pot first?

Karen, I think you end up with a stronger plant if you do, the only down is you have another pot to look after until you plant it out.
