As an FYI, they make tube coloring for fluorescent that just
goes around the fluorescent lamp.

Also, remember that when you start using Gel on your lamps
the light output will drop significantly the farther towards the ends of the
spectrums you go. May I ask why you are doing this? Is it to enhance the grow
cycle of the desired spectrum or are you just looking to cut counterproductive
spectrums to a set goal?

I would suggest that this might be an easy fast fix but you might want to check
out low cost spectrum specific LEDs. You’ll spend about 20 USD a tube on the
tube Gels (I haven’t bought one of these in a while) but you might be able to
find a low cost LED fixture to enhance the spectrum (sorry drawing a blank on
what it is really called).

There are no inhibiting colors in the visible spectrum and, with some minor exceptions that I don't want to get into, that is why it is counter productive to filter the light that plants receive. As can be seen from the graph below, green is 37% as effective as the most effective color, blue, at causing photosynthesis.

but, may I as for a academic siting? I have seen this in a couple places and
have heard that green has a wide range of effects on plants. I just would like
it for my repository of semi-useful information.
