Great job!! They look wonderful. I wouldn't put anything outside until your night time temperatures are staying in the 40sF and there is no chance of a hard frost. And you'll need to harden them off by moving them outside for a short time then gradually longer and longer time each day until they get accustomed to the outside. Unless you have a small greenhouse you can put them in and then gradually move them out from there. I just put my seedling out in the little greenhouse today!

Thanks Selil, Our night temperatures have been around 42 to 48F but they are forecasting a drop down to around 32 for next week. April is always a little unpredictable over here. I will just have to keep an eye on the weather

We have the same kind of up and down temps in April too. It's always sort of a gamble when I get my roses outside but they do so much better once they're outdoors that I often take the risk. At least having the greenhouse helps if it does decide to drop suddenly.

Hope I am in the correct forum for this, I need a good bit of advice on basic rose propagation.

I have taken cuttings and done the under a mason jar method in the fall, no luck.

I have taken cuttings and put them in various mediums, no luck.

I do want to be successful at this. I can grow so many other things that this seems silly that I can't accomplish this task!

I have an entire library at my fingertips (between all of my books and the internet) but there has got to be something I am just not grasping.

Any help to teach an old dog a new trick????

Hi Rosie, this was my first try at rooting cuttings in winter and am very happy with the results.

I rooted my cuttings 99% according to George Mander’s ‘Own Root Cuttings Setup’ which you can find here in this forum as well as on Help Me Find (http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/ezine.php?publicationID=639&js=0) or on his website George Mander's Roses of Excellence . I say 99% because I used coco coir as suggested by mgleason instead of sunshine mix.
