Healthy shoots?

Hi there! I am newer to the world of peonies and I got a bareroot peony from a garden show in March.

I know spring isn't ideal time to plant peonies but they were such a good deal I couldn't pass them up. I picked up two top brass bareroot, this is the larger of the two and it's already grown a lot, especially compared to the other peonies in my garden. can't tell if this looks like healthy growth or not? I guess the leaves just look funny to me.

Can any of you experts weigh in on this for me? We have had extremely warm weather for April... very low it's been in two weeks was 37. Hoping it's normal growth or it'll recover!

    It looks normal to me, Michaela, but I don't have that variety. The leaves will unfurl as the peony grows. Just keep it watered as you would any other newly planted perennial and it should be fine.
