Heuchera idea

last modified: 11 years ago

Since they like woodland conditions, I decided to try something with my 'Sweet Tea' that wants very badly to die. It seems positive so far....course very early in the year.
I have (by virtue of previous house owner) very large stumps with about a foot diameter of woodchip/sawdust from the cutting of the trees. Depth of the sawdust layer is about 10 inches.

I placed the heuchera and other woodland plants in the sawdust (which is about 5 years old...so almost compost..but not quite). It seemed better than anything I did last year..so far, and of course, only time will tell.
