I paid $1 for a naked stick with a purple poof on top at the Will Rogers Plant Sale one year. Planted it at the back of the garden so I could at least get it in the ground. Forgot about it. The next year, something was coming up. I had no idea what it was. My neighbor didn't either. Figured I'd leave it and see what it would do. If it ended up a weed, I'd pull it. Didn't really do anything, but I let it alone again. The next year, Ohmygoodness! This was the perfect example of "The first year, it sleeps. The second year, it creeps. The third year, it LEAPS!" That is the story of how I became acquainted with Bee Balm.

Kim - those are beautiful!!! Hope someone brings some iris bulbs this year. I've got quite a few but not enough yet to dig and divide.

Paula, I hope to be able to dig some of my purple bearded irises. They're not blooming this year, either.

I actually don't remember but I think Bee balm? I got 2 different things from Dawn last year in that bed. It has just gone crazy this year. I really enjoy my little space at home.

I think it looks like bee balm. Does it bloom purple?

Gosh I honestly don't remember. Last year was a rough one and I think maybe but?....My brain is better this year and I am taking notes too.

That's Bee Balm. I grows like gangbusters. I have purple. Brought some to the Fling today. It is available in different colors. I divide and move to different areas of the yard or give to friends, old and new! Because it attracts pollinators, I like to plant it next to my veggies, also.

I think I took the purple ones last year. From the looks of mine, I should have taken about a 100 this year. The first few years it didn't spread much, but now it goes crazy.
