You can always cut out the bottom of the planters.

how large are these veggie beds going to be?

you might try www.hansensteel.com and ask about corten steel (A606-4 or A588 steel) I have not used them. I have used other steel fabricators in the LA area. I found it to be a challenge to find fabricators to do smaller jobs. Do you have an idea of what you want to spend?

depending on the size of your planters / veggie beds, you may want to build them out of wood and sheath them in a lighter gauge steel. it is much less expensive to have fabricators bend and cut pieces of sheet metal than to make a physical object that requires welds. I know that defeats the purpose of making them out of a steel. but if they to be made out of stuctural steel, they will weigh a ton and very expensive.

I did large planters in wood and sheathed them in galvanized steel

I'm just south of you in Brentwood.

Thank you both for the comments.

I'm looking to have 2 veggie beds, each roughly 4'x8' in size (give or take a few inches). I did want to get pre-made planter but there's nothing available in the size that I need. I managed to get a hold of someone at 1 metal fabricator but they only sell corten steel in sheets (cut to size) and won't put it together for me. I even got a quote for a custom size from Planterworx but it's way over what I wanted to pay (not including shipping cost from NY!). I'll definitely reach out to Hansen Steel today, thank you for the referral Kelley!
