We have recently moved into a new flat (ground floor of vistorian terrace) with a kitchen-diner. The floor has wooden boards painted light blue / green. We also have a purple velvet armchair that we want to include.

We are planning to paint the floor white / cream and re-do the kitchen. If the floor wasnt painted we would probably go for cream cabinets but now worried it will all be too monotone with white walls, floors and cabinets. Any advice on possible colour combinations that will work with the purple armchair?
