Stone color matching?

Our backyard:

A bit of a random question but we've got an existing patio in our backyard that's a reddish/beige stone (above). I'd like to add some large pavers to the side of the house that extend into the backyard but am wondering if going with more red stone (probably stained concrete) would be excessive (I can't match the original patio stone color easily), or could I get away with using a regular bluish/grey concrete color? And then, would they clash? I'm worried about having two distinct styles right next to each other. I briefly thought about pouring over the existing patio but that's a lot of work. Thanks for your thoughts!

We have a pretty tight budget... under $1500. Suggestions?

As long as the new pavers compliment the existing patio, you should be fine. The ones you like look like they match the patio mortar pretty closely, so a good choice.

Are there warmer colored options? My local supplier offers a line of pavers similar to yours ('Prestige' architectural pavers) that come in a range of color tones. Ones called 'Sienna' or 'Cardinal' look like they would blend well with your patio and not be too red.

FWIW, contrasting but complimentary hardscaping materials are perfectly acceptable from a design standpoint - you just want to limit how many different materials you use. Two is perfectly fine.

btw, this is really a landscape design issue - groundcovers are generally considered to be living plants :-) And if you post this same request in the Landscape Design forum, you may get other input. However most of the respondents there are NOT professional designers so be warned that you may get some, shall we say, 'unique' responses.
