Have several of my beans beds ready, soil amended with compost and sea soil and mulched with straw. Soil is warm enough in two of the raised beds so have a couple of varieties started in the greenhouse in particular the 'Aeron Purple Star' runners for the netting in one of the beds, the few that I tasted last year were delicious.

The other two 'Big Mama' a pole snap bean and 'Aunt Jean's', finally getting around to growing these two. Lots more to go like 30 or so varieties. Some I'm only growing samples of, these are being grown in 5 gallon buckets, just enough for a taste and a few seeds. It looks like I'll be bagging a LOT of flowers this year, not a problem unless you've left the bags on too long and then the fight and much mumbling (being polite here) to get the bean out, ask me how I know this LOL.

I'm mulching all my beds with straw this year as it looks like we're in for severe watering restrictions being there's no snow pack in the mountains. If this doesn't materialize at least the straw will keep the weeds down, the few oats that manage to grow are easy to pull. The growing season has finally begun here, I'm one happy camper.
