Can anyone tell how old is this plant?

Hi Chris,

Sometimes some of my adenium leaves turn yellow and drop when and we have had a couple of cloudy days and rain here in the tropics. My potting mix is very well draining, but I guess the combination of cloudy skies and moisture does this to my plants.

Your new adenium is very pretty. If it was grown there in Malaysia, and is not a grafted plant, I would venture to guess it is less than a year old.

Chris, I have a few seedlings at this time with similar yellowing on the leves and my first thought was a difficiency of some kind. All of the seedlings are together and in same mix, so not quite sure.

I just gave mine a light fertilizing and am going to watch.

Not sure otherwise.

I see what you mean about yellowing on the leaves--on the 3 leaves to the left, the yellowing seems to begin at the margin of the leaves. On my plants, the yellow occurs uniformly, throughout the leaves. And this occurs on several individually potted adeniums, not just on one. Glad Rick brought that up--I will watch out for that different kind of yellowing in case it is nutrient deficiency.

Hi Chris, which part of the seedling did the leaves come from? I notice with my seedlings that are actively growing that the bottom most pair of leaves sometimes turns yellow or brown and fall off. Of course mine are indoors so the situation is quite different. Have you had a large amount of rain recently? Has there been any sudden change in their environmental conditions?

Tracy, it's always come from the bottom leaves, lately we have heavy rain everyday, but sometimes no rain for a month the leaves is still the same. It only affected the bottom part only.

Perhaps you should try potting up several seedlings in a more gritty mix to see if having better drainage will help stop the yellowing of the leaves. Just an idea...
