If you are talking pre-emergent, I already have crabgrass growing so it might be late. Not an expert though.

I think it likely is too late, but it would depend on what weeds you were hoping to control. Different weeds germinate at different soil temperatures. In general, you'd apply a pre-emergent herbicide in March through very early April, depending on where you are in Oklahoma and also depending on when the weeds germinate. With some kinds of weeds, you apply the pre-emergent in autumn to prevent cool-season weeds from germinating in winter or earliest spring. Then, you apply a pre-emergent in March (sometimes if February in far southern Oklahoma) to prevent warm-season weeds from sprouting.

You still could use a post-emergent to kill weeds that have sprouted, but you have to be very careful with those or they can kill desirable plants like trees, shrubs and perennial and annual flowers.
