We got our cabinet door fronts from a place in Brenham called Evan's. I don't know if they do the whole cabinet or just door fronts as our builder builds the boxes on site and buys the door fronts. Very please with the quality!

Look at a cabinet company that carries Omega. You ought to be able to do anything you need with them for less than that, and with a MUCH higher quality finish. Unless you want exotic woods everywhere and have 12 bathrooms that is. Dunno why TX is the land of cheap site built crap that gets labeled custom, but it is. Buyer beware on anyone using that ''custom'' label!

They did all the custom cabinetry in my home -- kitchen, 4 baths, and built-ins in living room, mudroom, stair landing and bedroom. At the time they did not do finishing, but now also do that. $250K sounds like a lot of money -- guess it depends on what you are having done (and what kind of wood, finishing, etc.), but wow! Definitely worth getting some additional bids.

Another one you might try is Joseph Zambarano. I have not used him and don't know anything about what he charges, but have seen his work in several homes on the AIA tour in Austin over the course of several years -- beautiful.

$300K for cabinets? Man am I in the wrong business. I did ace woodshop in junior high.

Custom is a horribly bastardized term used for awful site built bugs in the finish builder grade dreck to the highest quality craftsmanship with an artisan on staff who does spectacular things with finishes that are just as durable as a factory finish. Or, go for the factory custom like Rutt or Omega.
