I would re-pot it in a one or two gallon container in well drained soil, like cactus mix and Turface, and let it rest in the shade for a while. Figs do not like wet feet! Keep the soil damp, not wet! I had a tree with two leaves only for 2 years! I had fried it's roots by setting it's container in full sun! The advice was to flood the container with water, then follow up with miracle grow, and put the plant in partial sun. That did the trick! Good luck! You can't expect a tree to grow big in a 4" container.

I should have mentioned it's already in 5-1-1 citrus mix (that's 5 parts bark chips, 1 part citrus soil, 1 part perlite with a little dolomitic lime, in a 6-in plastic pot (orangey in color). However it arrived *extremely* root bound (roots a solid block, could only just barely tease some lower roots out with thorough rinsing) . Honestly I was a bit dissatisfied with the condition of this plant on arrival but that's another issue.

I don't have shade to rest it in, other than bringing it completely indoors. I live in a 4th floor apartment, it has it's challenges.

Do you have a deck? You could put it under a bar stool or an umbrella. If you want fruit, it will need sunshine. Sometimes we need to get creative. Good luck!

I coddle my lime but everyone said "figs are easy" so poor Figaro has had a tough time of it. Appreciate the help!
