Last year, for my VFTs purchased that year, some of them being bare root, I used some cylindrical 1 gallon water containers that I re-purposed into the VFT container. That gave about a 6" diameter and 6" height, which was probably OK for the new plants to establish themselves.

While deciding to repot this year, I wanted to combine the plants instead of having them in their own pots. I decided to use some planting pots I had which seem to have a reservoir, and would keep the potting soil moist up at least 1/2 the pot's height. That was annoying to have my veggie's plant roots in soil like that (it would eventually have that sewage smell), but for a VFT growing environment that could basically be a mini-bog, maybe it would good.

I am using a 50-50 mix of perlite and peat moss.

I went with some 2 pots that were 14-18" in diameter, and about 14-16" deep. As I thought about it, I began to wonder if it needs more control of
the moisture. I know there are bathtub gardens (deep) and dish gardens
(wide but maybe not that deep) with CPs, but my 2 containers fall
somewhere in between.

I wanted to ask from those with bigger containers like this, is there any problem I need to watch out for, such as root rot, anaerobic problems with a deep container, etc
