This is a cold grower from Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia at elevations of 2150 to 3000 meters. It's giant sized, mine is about 4' tall at this time. The picture of the plant have a tag to give perspective of the size. Finally, after taking up all that room, it rewarded me with flowers!! A few dinky little nothings, again the tag for comparison of size. I guess my reward will come in the next life.

It does supposedly make a many flowered pannicle, maybe next year.
