vines for zone 8

I have a chain link fence that's screaming to have some green coverage on it. I don't know if this is an unrealistic expectation, but I'd love some vines that are green year round and that maybe have some flowers in the spring summer. Does something like this exist? The area they'd be in is in full sun, so I think that leaves out ivy, right?

Here are a couple of possibilities - Star jasmine (Trachelosperum jasminoides), blue passionflower (Passiflora caerulea) and coral honeysuckle (Lonicera sempervirens). Plant one of each and you will have red, white and blue flowers!

Where are you in zone 8? That covers a lot of diverse territory. In my zone 8, there are a reasonable number of evergreen vines, most of which flower. And I'm not including ivy, which is an invasive pest in my area (and a number of others).

I am in far west Texas. Different sites I look at will say zone 8a or 8b, but I haven't found anything consistent.

Gardengal is right on. Jasmine and honeysuckle would be great for what you want. Lady Banks or a rambling rose would be good also. Engleman's Ivy would be nice too, though it will go dormant in winter...

I just planted native pink honeysuckle , the bees and hummers love it

What is native to the PNW is unlikely to do very well in west Texas. Very different climate conditions.
