Curtain help

Trying to lighten this room with the help of new curtains and pillows. Couch is like a hunter? Green. Had dark curtains and was using a red as pillows but I'm tired of red! So here is a pic of the window- two different curtains the left is an ivory and the right a beige/tan. Thoughts? Thanks for your opinions!

You will be safe with either one. If you go stripe you will have problems with coordinating any other print or mixed color. Better to be safe than sorry. Are those from Ikea? Theirs are the best for the money. You will need to raise them to kiss the floor. Or hem them

I bet the darker ones are more room darkening if you want that.

Thank you for the suggestions brownw74. I'm not sure how I feel about stripes, or patterns! I'm really boring lol! I do think the solid choices would give me more options when choosing pillows and accessories. But I don't know, that's why I'm here!!! Thanks again.

Sandradclark I appreciate your compliment and feedback! These panels are from bed bath and beyond. I forgot all about ikea, I'll have to make a trip there this week. I've just retuned from home goods and tjmax, but they never have more than one or two panels or pillows that I like, so frustrating. The first day I liked the darker panel, but after a couple of days I'm leaning toward the ivory one. They are there only as a decoration, no privacy issues. My whole idea is to lighten/brighten up the space and try something other than red. I also just returned the pillow because two tjmax don't have anymore :-(.

After living with the two panels for a week, I think I'm leaning toward the ivory ( on the left). But now I'm wondering if I should only hang one panel on the outside of each window flanking the fireplace. There isn't much space for the panel on the side closest to the fire place and is not on the outside of the window? So, two panels or one? Thank you for your suggestions!

My brother just came over and said that one panel on each window makes the room look incomplete! I guess I know how he feels :-).

I am definitely going with two panels each window, I agree it looks unfinished with just one!

I was really hoping to get a few more thoughts on the two panel choices, but I guess that I'll have to pick :-)-I plan on making a trip to bed bath and beyond this evening to purchase 5 more panels. I'm Still leaning ivory, but husband and son prefer the tan/beige one. So I'll make a final decision when I get there! Thank you to w brown and sandradclark for posting!

Of these 2 choices the ivory is better but you don't have any ivory in the room. I think white would be better. Then more white pillows.

Thanks for commenting kadodi! I previously purchased white panels but it was to stark. Just seemed too white. That's when I decided to try off white/cream/ ivory and the tan beige. The rug currently in the room had a bit of cream and gold so I figured I would try that.

I don't want to argue...but do want to encourage you to withhold judgement on white until the room is finished. We recently built a custom home. I bought white tile for the master bath & guest room bath. When the master shower walls were done, I thought the white was way too stark. I then ordered bone tile for both and I honestly debated ripping it all out. In the end, the guest bath is bone and the master bath is white. I love the white and don't like the bone.

When I look at your picture of the chair, the pillow is alive & very pretty but the ivory drapes are meh, so-so.

The white should be in large, medium, & small pieces... the drapery, rug, and pillows as well as lampshades. I honestly believe it will bring the room to life and make it more current.
