Help with designing a MARY'S GARDEN

I am planning to put a Mary's Garden in and would like some ideals on this and how to go about doing this.

The soil is clay and in full sun in Zone 5 in Ohio.

Also is there any garden devoted to ST. Frances I would like to combined both of these together.
