I'm taken with your Wonderstripe. Have you ever grown Cabana? If so, how does it compare? Thanks for sharing.

Of course I have CABANA! LOL Totally different. CABANA is a hybrid tea that has big fat high-centered blooms. WONDERSTRIPE is a shrub that grows tall and wide and has lots of smaller informal blooms. CABANA's blooms fade quite a lot and blow pretty quickly. WONDERSTRIPE's blooms last longer and keep their color better. Don't ask me about scent... because I have no idea! I grow for looks not scent. But I'm guessing they have none... or I'd remember. LOL

Beautiful!!! Your photo makes me very glad I blindly ordered Dark Desires from Roses Unlimited at their suggestion. It is so new it is hard to find any information on it anywhere. How has it been for you? How would you describe the shape of the bush? I know we are in different zones but I'd love any input on this rose as I'm not yet sure where to put it when it gets here!

Beth, I'm interested in your experience with Dark Desire as well. I also saw it was highly recommended on Roses Unlimited. I believe the owner has 5 of them in pots around the porch or deck. I found several at Lowe's the other day. I have a spot in the garden where a Rose of Sharon has been hanging on for dear life the past year or more. I'm debating replacing it with Dark Desire, a different rose or maybe another rose of sharon.

Dark Desire seems it's classified as a hybrid tea one place and a grandiflora another. I haven't seen any pictures of the whole bush yet, and I don't have much experience growing roses other than floribundas or some shrub roses. Would you be kind enough to comment on your experience growing it? I'm curious about the height/growth habit of Dark Desire and whether it might make a good landscape rose with sufficient number of blooms. I've read that it is very healthy and fragrant. I don't cut roses, so that's not real important to me.

Love 'Wonderstripe'. Great colors. Nice capture of 'Coretta ....'. And I've often wished I chose 'Mary Rose' instead of 'Heritage'. Lovely bloom.

I sat at Lowe's for 20 minutes debating whether or not to purchase Dark Desire to place her in a pot. She has great scent for sure. In the end, I went home empty handed. Beth, can you give us your experience with Dark Desire?

Sorry guys I must've gotten sidetracked.

I just got DARK DESIRE this season, so I only have a little experience with it. I potted it in a 16" plastic pot until I figure out where it's going. So far it shot up to about 3ft high and about 2.5ft wide and has no disease. Blooms are about 4-5" and last quite a long time and smell pretty good. They keep opening up fuller and fuller and the center becomes lighter as it ages. I think it's going to be a wonderful rose. I would recommend it for sure!
