We got just under 1/2 inch early Saturday morning, then just clouds and wind the rest of the weekend. Nice break before the 100+ degrees we're supposed to get later in the week!

I have a bone dry bed full of tepary beans that has been planted for two full month without one sign of life. I hear that in the wild they sit and wait for the summer rains, but that cold rain two days ago dampened the dust about six inches down. I wonder if that will kick them into life, if it's not enough, or if they've been quietly eaten by now by little beasts of various sorts.

Glad you got some rain too, Leslie. Half an inch is great at this time of year! I like your tepary bean experiment, grubby, keep us posted. Sounds neat! I have horse crippler plants that self sow and those seeds always wait until monsoon before sprouting. Hopefully your beans will do the same. Keep us posted! Happy gardening!
