My STATUS this year: I started mine about the first week of April. I have about 95% germination after 3 weeks or so (Despite cold apartment, saved seeds, dollar store soil, etc.)

It did take rather long, but I did not give up! (About 2-3 weeks to see the first sprouts)

I found they appeared on a sunny day (perhaps because the window was warm, or, because it was 3 weeks already! lol) Here is a pic of the first ones. However by now almost each pod has a seedling (I think 1/12 is empty!)

Cool! So far mine are only a few inches. Ill be sure to update and hope mine are true too!

Last season I grew out seeds from mini peppers purchased at Aldi and they turned out great. So great that this year I'm growing out seeds from last season's peppers. The yellow and orange peppers were larger than the red, so those are the ones I have out in the garden now with the hope that seeds from yellow peppers will yield plants producing yellow peppers and that the orange ones will produce orange.

Last year's plants were medium size and vey prolific, producing ripe peppers from late June through frost. Last season I grew 6 plants and this season I'm growing 12.
