Help identifying woodland plant.

Planted one of these lovelies 20 years ago and over time have forgotten its name. Now that it has naturalized everywhere .. I probably should be able to identify it. Many thanks in advance.

Dicentra eximia I should think. One of the close relatives to our garden "bleedingheart".

I should have said It's only a few inches tall and wide (about 4 inches), and the flowers are purplish. It dies back very soon in spring, its only around for a few weeks. The Dicentra family makes sense, but I can't find it on any searches.

Oh sure you can! Lots of references to "reblooming" bleedinghearts, etc. Also look at Dutchmen's breeches, a similar but native woodland plant of N. America, as well as still another called squirrelcorn.

Yes of course I can find Dicentra, but not this particular version of it … small and purplish not pink as a bleeding heart nor white as the Dutchmen's breeches and squirrel corn. I will keep looking tho and report back.

It's Corydalis Solida, a kind person on Name that Plant recognized it ..

Yes, my mistake. Blurting out the first thing that popped into my head didn't work in this case!
