Thanks for the compliment fp. This design project was great fun because the change was so dramatic. My customer had a dark-wood Tuscan kitchen, but wanted to bring in as much light as possible. So as you can see we painted the cabinets white and added the white Carrera marble countertops with an Ogee edge in the kitchen, island and bar areas. The change was night and day. As a contrasting accent to the white, and to add a touch of contemporary, we stained the Oak in island and bar areas gray. As you know white portions of Carrera marble vary from grayish white to shades where gray is more predominate. So I recommend you look diligently to find the level of white you need in the marble slabs for your kitchen.
