Individual lily flowers only last a few days at most. Drying out would indicate they are past their bloom time. And even early lilies bloom quite a bit latter than May 1st so these were likely forced into bloom early. You might also have disturbed the root system by pulling the bulbs apart when planting and that can also impact flowering.

The good news is that these should come back again strong next season. As long as you have well drained, reasonably decent soil, the bulbs should be fine.

This is what I was hoping the answer was. It seems early for flowers. And I was hoping I didn't ruin everything by taking them apart. I also wondered if they dried out when they were done, but they are not day lilies. So yay! Thank you!
