Who's growing from seed?

And how is it going? I'm in Grand Rapids, MI and I finally have some sprouts. My first were, surprisingly, A. tuberosa. I wintersowed all my milkweed, but these particular seeds were in smaller, plastic cups. I think the smaller cups warmed up faster, so they germinated earlier. Now I'm getting sprouts in my A. syriaca. Nothing in the incarnata, speciosa, or the last one I can't remember the name. I'm hoping I'll find lots of people who have heard about the plight of the Monarchs who will take these off my hands. If not, I have space at my mother's property or my brother's. I've already planted some there, though. I'm hoping to spread the wealth. Though, if I keep track of where they are growing, I can collect seeds from them when they are mature. Please tell me how all of you are doing, and what your plans are for your plants, once they are grown.

I kept my Red Ring seeds in cold, moist stratification for 60 days and 3 out of 12 seeds germinated.

I got a few redring milkweed to sprout up- pretty quick I'm going to be dividing them out of their starter tray and into their own pots. They are still so tiny I'm a bit nervous to put them out in my yard yet. Once they get big enough they will get planted into my meadow, and hopefully eventually get them to grow big enough to have a lot of them out there. Maybe I'll eventually be able to share seed :)

did you chill the seeds for 1 month some milkweeds need that

I did pretty much the same as flutterby.. tossed the seeds in a moist paper towel and sealed in a ziplock bag in the fridge for a couple months, and got about 5 out of 12 seeds germinated, but only 3 remained strong. The ones I wintersowed never sprouted at all.

It might work better to sow the seeds in a pot outside in the fall and let it naturally germinate over the winter
