Clematis vines stuggled

Hi,

We planted 2 clamatis on this pergola about 10 years ago. One was a Betty Corning (died a few years ago). The White Autumn is still there, but not showing much gain for 10 years. Some years ago, it reached the top of the pergola, but it just keep dying back. The area doesn't get much full sun, This past winter, all growth above the snow line was killed off. Pics attached.

A landscape man was here last year. He said wisteria will grow in these conditions. Any comments here, or suggest a type of wisteria which can grow cold, damp and poor sun?
