Some can look viney but it can be hard to tell until the plants are fully grown... I had a packet say pole beans but ended up with bush beans. It totaly messed up my planting arrangements.

Yes some do put out short runners almost like a half runner, the variety name would help.

mav, that's happened to me too, I thought I had found a climbing version of 'Little White Ice' not so, wasted space. This wasn't a trade, this bean was being sold as a pole bean. You can't win them all.

The main stem has looped 3 times around a piece of wire I put it against as a test.

I had Pencil Pod Wax beans last year that were viney and were winding around the garlic that I had planted next to them.

It has since stopped it seems. It's about 1.5' tall lol.

I have grown Royal Burgundy from Johnny's Seeds the last 2 years. They definitely did not climb. If yours are 1.5' feet tall they're probably full grown. The good news is, they were really early producers for me so you'll probably have a back of pretty purple beans very soon!

Oh cool! Ya the flowers are just starting to die off. And it stopped climbing. If I grow this sucker indoors, will it keep producing?
