I think Sherwin Williams 6143 Basket Beige or 6144 Dapper Tan would look nice. Another inexpensive way to change up your boring tile look is to have a tile installer (or you could do it yourself) come in a take out a row of your white square tiles. Then add contemporary brown/beige mix of glass tile such as the photo I'm attaching in that row to make it look updated.

To achieve the spa feel you were looking for, I think you may like Benjamin Moore Historic Collection: Palladian Blue #HC-144. Before changing any tiles, add accessories, a roman blind, great lighting, a rug and a wooden table next to the tub. You are lucky to have a blank slate and it can be just lovely.
