Grows well in the Tampa Bay Area. A little slower grower and more compact than some of the other close relatives. I keep mine in 7 gallon containers, blooms very well, no fruit due to lack of suitable pollinators so far.

Hi Passifarm, I am beginning to wonder if the last one I had was just a dud lol. I hope this new one does as well as yours. I also grow in containers. Have you tried hand pollinating any of your passies? Or were you referring to a lack of proper variety of plants for cross pollinating?

I extensively hand pollinate to verify crossing partners, and to create seedling clones for pollinating difficult species. Nigradenia bloomed very heavily in April, but I lack suitable species to pollinate. The blooms I had available from other species were not compatible.

My nigradenia is starting to take off now and I just had to put it in a larger pot. My last one was never this healthy so I guess I just had a dud last time. Thanks.
