Check with your local zoning officials to see how a fence you're allowed to put up before doing anything.

Most areas have noise ordinances so check to see if your area has one as well. If they do, talk to the police about enforcing it.

I have lived here 30 years and this just became an issue this year...I have no idea what happened to the parents, but it seems the kids have taken over the house.. a policeman lives across the street... other neighbors have called authorities... do you live in Hawaii?

I would also talk to your neighbor the police officer and see what he knows or can recommend. The neighbors need to get together to combat the problem, and the sooner, the better. Contact your city or county council people to see if there's anything they can do to help.

Another thing to watch for is increased traffic in your area indicating the house has turned into a drug house. I have a neighbor 3 doors down who is either a drug dealer or all his kids were/are dealers. We live on a cul-de-sac with 18 houses, and had people driving down, turning around and going to the the top of the hill [we're on a slight hill] where the mailboxes are to await their dealer to make the drug buy. For some reason, the neighbor finally threw his drug dealing son and his girlfriend out so our street is remarkably quiet except for the lone user who wasn't notified that they moved. I think one reason the father might have thrown them out is because I helped our HOA write a newsletter mentioning how much drug dealing is going on, and urging people to call the police. You have to take a proactive approach to dealing with whatever problem is going on over there, including calling in noise complaints until they settle down. In our city, if you can hear something 50 ft away, it's a noise violation. Stand up for yourself, band together with your other neighbors and contact as many people in your city or county government as possible to resolve the issue. Good luck!
