Swazicum Seedlings

These are some Swazicum seedlings that I have just started.

I am really looking forward to watching them grow. A very generous and kind friend from Africa sent them to me from his collection.

The tall, slim sprouts look promising. I wonder, are the two plants in clay pots also swazicums?

Excellent! They are so tall already! Can't wait to see the progress. I like your pots. What size are they?

Mark, the pots are 3 1/2". They are ones here that nurseries sell annuals in each year. I know someone at a nursery and she gives me a few trays whic hold them. Each holds 15 pots. This way they are easier to move around. I like the square ones also, as they fit closer together rather than the circular ones.

I get the 2 1/4" pots and trays to put up the seedlings into once transplanted.

Thanks for the info Rick! Yes I like square ones too I feel like there is no lost space on the bench. Did you take all your plants outdoors now ?

I am ready to, just have not made the effort yet. Going to go through them and find homes for some.

I look forward to seeing their progress Rick. In addition to the Swazicums the True Socotranum seedlings are so cute and already are showing cool character. The view behind the seedlings is stunning. When you do move these guys outside, will they be up on a bench?

Mary, I hope they grow well for me. I have 4 that are about 1 1/2yrs. old, not flowered yet. These new ones are from seed from a friend in Africa from his multiple plants and I feel good knowing where these are from and what his plants look like. Your plants always make me feel so envious. So Beautiful.

Tracy, Yes I love the Soco's. So cool.

I can put them out now, but what makes me hesitant earlier on is that night time temps., lower too much for me. A bit of a fanatic.

They are going out this weekend and a lot will go into a covered, clear roof structure I have for them. I like this, as I can monitor the water they get.

    Hey Rick,
My computer is down. Don't have power. Please let coconut and others know I am alive and well. Waiting for daylight and for rain to stop so can start clean up outside. I don't have the app to send msg...only this window from email to communicate with you. Conserving cellphone battery. Will check back later.
    Thanks.

That is fantastic, Mark. Looking forward to having them out this summer. Keep me posted and I will do the same. Gordon said they where fresh seed and they must have been.

By the way. I was reading a wonderful article on Swazicums just the other day from NRSundaram from India. Absolutely brilliant gentleman and very helpful. It was on Facebook ' Adeniums Tips & Tricks '.

They sure are! Here's a photo from today. I helped in taking off the seed coat, and will be making sure the others come off. I'm surprised at the fast growth!

Ah, yes I think I saw that article but didn't get a chance to read it. I will look for it!

    Thank you Rick!
