I hung a pretty stained glass bowl like bird feeder in a tree. I've been adding rotten fruit and using it as a butterfly feeder. I've had several hummingbirds come through this last few days. I've seen a couple hanging out at my butterfly feeder. Do hummingbirds eat rotten fruit? Or are they just attracted by the pretty colors?

I'm in Houston so probably seeing hummingbirds earlier than most of you. Lots of flowers blooming here. The hummingbirds have been hanging out at my blue salvia the most. They've also been enjoying the tropical milkweed, bat face cuphea, red salvia, blanket flower, and blue black salvia. I have two humming bird feeders, but they have been enjoying the flowers more.
