Repotting Anthurium

last modified: 11 years ago

Hello,

I have an anthurium I inherited from my mom last winter. It was on it's last leg and with a little TLC, it has new shoots and is doing well.

I want to repot, but I have several questions.

1. Is the container it's in now too big, or does depend on the size of the root ball, not the shoots?

2. Is the 5:1:1 mix suitable for anthurium, or does it need something different? I have a feeling the pieces of bark might have to be coarser/closer to orchid mix.

3. What is the woody thing in the center? Can I remove it?

Thanks,

Krista
