Chris I think it all depends on personal preference. Find a location on your plant such as a single branch, if you would like to see it develop more cut it back half way and ideally you will soon have two or more branches from that one location. Or if a branch is disrupting your overall form and profile of the plant, give it a chop!

Might I suggest from newbie to newbie to be more minimal as you start and wait to see the result before moving on to more drastic measures. My honest opinion and you know I am quite new to the whole pruning thing. The best part of it so far is the experimentation. You are fortunate to have a large number of lovely test subjects!

The other day I wanted more information about root pruning so I binged/googled the internet. Lo, and behold, my posting about root pruning in the garden web came up! So a word of caution: if you want hundreds of spams and emails from around the world then okay. But if you don't, I strongly advise you edit your post and remove your email.

To get or give private email from/to Tracy, then click on Tracy's profile and click on "follow." But there's another thing: go to your profile and click on advanced settings (I think) and enable followers to email you.
