Thank you! Has anyone here worked with Nash Marble and & Granite before? They didn't have a sample I could take, which bothered my a little.

athumper84-did you go with the quartzite and if so, how is it holding up in the kitchen? Did you get a bullnose edge or something other?

We've used Quartzite in a few different kitchens. We've never had any complaints. One kitchen in particular gets a lot of heavy use and they couldn't be happier with how it's held up.

Quartzite has the same pickiness with cleaners so you just have to use one meant for stone to avoid etching the surface. You should have good luck with it. It really is a beautiful piece.

athumper84,

I'm not sure if you've already purchased this material or not since this post is from last month, but that stone that they call "Snowbound" is better known as Super White quartzite. It has also been called White American or Vermont White.

A few of our distributors classify this material as different types of stone--some call it marble, some call it granite, but we classify it as quartzite. If possible, I would pester them for a sample so that you can take it home and do etch/stain tests on it. We have tested this stone before, and lemon juice left overnight etched it. I would try to get a piece so that you can find out if you are comfortable with it or not. It is beautiful, and we still install it in kitchen regularly. I just want you to know what to expect from it. Good luck!

That material is commonly called Super White Quartzite. It is actually not a quartzite but a hard marble. It is very popular because it is beautiful like a white marble but durable like granite. We import Super White direct from Italy and it usually flies off the shelf. One of our personal favorites, great choice!
