I bought several of these salvias about a month or so ago. So far, not impressed. The stems break off at the base. I did some reading and found that they tend to do this when they are heavy with flowers, but these are too young to have too many flowers at this point. I thought maybe the neighbors cats might be using them as a bed, as they do with other parts of my gardens, so I spread cayenne to keep them away. Still breaking at the base. Any suggestions?
